snow snow snow.

right, er. hi, it's sophie. it's my turn, supposedly(!) to let you know whats been going on, this past week or so. already behind schedule, guess i'll start as i mean to go on. blame it on a lost wire, and my destructive way with electronics.

it's basically been a week full of snow, illness, and disasters. maybe not quite disasters, more just fails.
oh, and also some lasers!

we ended up not playing the good ship on thursday, courtesy of some over-inflated musician's egos (needless to say, of course, not ours...!) but we did manage to trek it down, through arctic winds, snow storms and blinding blizzards, to james' party on saturday, thanks to the good old fashioned never-fail national express. we played a new track, bat company, live for the first time, which sees the grand return of jak's microkorg and some rediscovery of pitch bends, and we tried our luck at being stage techs. we then promptly discovered we weren't very good at being stage techs. so that's plan b out of the window.

anyway, i've got some photos...

next week, i think jak should be letting you know about a 2 track release thing we've got coming out in the new year! how exciting.

merry christmas!
eat lots, drink lots.
love from sophie. xx

bloggus numero unos

Okay, here goes. First blog, so let's kick things off and talk about what's going down in the world of BIE (it's a small world, mind).

The summer of expanding our sound (ie using a fuzz box and louder singing) and gigging is over. Now it is cold and thus, we have recorded our amazingly titled 'EP2', consisting of what were probably our five strongest tracks, at the time. (beforeiexplode.bigcartel.com--buy it!). We seem to be getting louder as the band goes on; i think it's something to do with our desperation to be heard over the clank of bottles at various london town bars (and wherever else we end up).

geeze i do use a lot of brackets ( ! ). anyway after a long and over priced coach trip back home from a soho gig on monday night, sophie and i decided we should start documenting our shenanigans more, and grabbing some photos along the way. we've got a house party of our superfan and good friend james lawson (awesome lawson) to play in just over a week, and we're right stoked for it. we've got another gig in london two days before, and that's it for this year. other than that, there's another guitar tutorial on it's way, of one our old skool songs, so look forward to that!

anyway, it's one in the morning and i'm drinking jd and coke which is not the best alternative to coco so i may be up some time. another blog to follow soon, probably with much more information and more interesting little insights into our (not so) brilliant minds.

i have no pictures of our gigs this month, so here's one of me looking fairly moody, having returned from a 3D screening of 'A Christmas Carol'. rock n roll.
